The day a “For Sale” banner went up outside the former 1790 House on Route 9 eastbound in Westborough was a sad one for many area natives who viewed the historic restaurant as a landmark.

WORCESTER _ January, 2014 marked the inaugural year for the Worcester Business Journal’s “Best of Business” Awards Program where companies were nominated by popular vote in numerous categories. PENTA Communications, Inc. was proud to be recognized in two distinct categories this year. PENTA was voted the best Web Design Firm and was also chosen as runner up in the Advertising Agency category. There were 51 award categories upon which nearly 1,700 votes were tallied. The awards ceremony was held at Coral Seafood Restaurant in Worcester, which was attended by award recipients, their employees, and hundreds of business people from throughout the region.

In its ninth year, the Deborah A. Penta Female Leadership Scholarship is awarded annually to a Westborough High School (WHS) college-bound senior who personifies leadership, academic prowess, dedication to her community, and diversified extra curricular activities during her high school years.
The Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce, along with the DoubleTree Hotel, HYPE9 (young professionals group of Corridor Nine), local schools and member businesses, are joining forces to collect food for those in need. In the spirit of a community partnership, Corridor Nine is hoping to engage all businesses and residents to help fight local hunger. Businesses and schools are asked to set up collection bins and encourage employees, staff members, and parents/schoolchildren to make donations.

PENTA Communications, Inc. (PENTA) is celebrating its 25th Anniversary year, and while the firm looks back on its history in the region, it celebrates by purchasing a historic property, one which has been part of the Central Massachusetts community for nearly 200 years.
PENTA will move its offices to 208 Turnpike Road in Westborough before the end of 2013, and will take new residence at the former 1790 House, a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The property has been visited by numerous notable people in American history, and all of its eight fireplaces are recorded in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
