PENTA Communications, Inc. recognized at 14th Annual United Nations Day Luncheon

Boston_PENTA Communications, Inc., headquartered in Westborough, MA was recognized today at the 14th Annual United Nations Day Luncheon for being on the distinguished UNA-GB Global Corporate Citizenship Honor Roll. Over 200 business leaders from New England attended this event at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

Georg Kell, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact and Jonas Haertle, Head of the PRME Secretariat visited Boston for the event and took part in the VIP reception and the luncheon. The keynote speaker was Ambassador Nicholas Burns, Sultan of Oman Professor of the Practice of International Relations at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is Director of the Future of Diplomacy Project and Faculty Chair for the Programs on the Middle East and on India and South Asia.

The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

The annual luncheon celebrates the UN’s accomplishments and indispensable work by engaging high level policy-making, business, community, and academic leaders. PENTA was one of only six Massachusetts-based signatories whose key corporate social responsibility and sustainability principles were recognized. Others included CSRwire®, Comverse, Inc., CBT Technology, Inc., Virtusa Corporation, and Dean’s Beans®.

Over the past 25 years, PENTA Communications, Inc. has been a vested community stakeholder in the Central Massachusetts region. The firm will be launching a series of UN focused community-orientated educational programs in 2014 to include business leadership forums, and will be introducing a model UN learning program in a local school.
