PENTA Voted Best Woman-Owned Business
WESTBOROUGH, MA _ PENTA Communications, Inc., a 100% female-owned full service integrated marketing firm located outside of Boston, Massachusetts, was voted Best Woman-Owned Business by the Worcester Business Journal (WBJ) in an announcement on January 6th. This is the second year this award has been given, and the second consecutive year in which the Firm has been honored with this award. The WBJ’s 2020 Awards Celebration will take place on January 29, at the Beechwood Hotel, located in Worcester.
In 2019, the Worcester Business Journal added the category of Best Woman-Owned Business to the annual Best of Business Awards, which honors companies that emerge as the finest in the region. Voters select winners online in over six categories and nearly 50 subcategories.
The company’s founder and CEO, Deborah Penta, has been recognized for her work and philanthropy within the community, industry, and private sector. The Boy Scouts of America recognized Penta with the 2017 Good Scout Award for living the core values of scouting and for her community contributions. In 2013, she received the esteemed Katharine F. Erskine Award in Business & Law from the YWCA. She was honored with a Woman of Distinction Award in 2002 from the Girl Scouts of America, and in 2005, she received the prestigious Eli Whitney Award from the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce for Innovation. In 2014, after serving as general-contractor and interior designer, completing an extensive historic building restoration with a commitment to preservation, she received a Silver Hammer Award from the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce for the renovation and restoration of the historic PENTA Building, which remains on the National Registry of Historic Places. Penta was one of the first women to receive this recognition. In 2009, Penta received an Inaugural Outstanding Woman in Business Award from the WBJ.
Over the years, the firm has contributed over $2.5 million to organizations within the Commonwealth to strengthen education, economic development, women’s empowerment, and children’s health and education.
Penta uses her experience as a top nationwide expert in marketing, advertising, public relations, and strategic communications to serve as an educational resource to peers and college-bound high school seniors through the multifaceted learning experience, the PENTA Marketing Mentor Scholars™ program.
