PENTA teams up with Toys for Tots for Third Consecutive Year

Westborough, MA – It has become an annual tradition at PENTA Communications, Inc. to brighten the holidays for children in Central Massachusetts. For the third consecutive year, the firm is partnering with Toys for Tots to provide a joy-filled Christmas for thousands of less fortunate children by designating its corporate headquarters, at 208 Turnpike Road (Route 9 East) as a drop-off location. The company and its employees are excited to organize another generous outpouring of toys, books, and games.

In 2015, PENTA was one of the most successful drop-off locations for Toys for Tots in the region, rallying the community to donate 220 toys to benefit local children. This year, the marketing firm is aiming for over 300 toys donated, and needs the help of the community to reach this goal.

“We are delighted to celebrate our third year as a drop-off site for Toys for Tots, and look forward to raising the bar higher as we strive to reach 300 donated toys for children in our community,” said Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. “Every donated toy is earmarked for a child in Central Massachusetts, which means that donors can be assured that their gift benefits children in our local communities. We hope people will be inspired to help again this year.”

Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by Reservist Major Bill Hendricks. Over six decades later, under the leadership of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, the initiative continues to uphold its mission to  help less fortunate families throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas, instill hope in children, and encourage them to become responsible, productive, and patriotic citizens. The charity collected and circulated 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children in 2015. Over its 69-year history, the Toys for Tots program has distributed over 512 million toys to over 237 million underprivileged children.

“Over the years, we have encouraged other companies to help Toys for Tots, and hope businesses continue to step up and participate by using their own locations as drop-off sites,” said Penta. “We believe our Route 9 location is a convenient place for people to find and visit during their travels, and encourage members of the community to donate at least one toy for any age child, and at whatever level is comfortable. Every toy donated will make a difference and bring a smile to a child on Christmas Day.”

For nearly 30 years, PENTA Communications, Inc. has been a devoted supporter and advocate of charitable programs benefiting children, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Many years ago, the firm raised nearly $1 million and sponsored over 100 wishes for children through its Black Tie Dinner Gala and Auction. The company has also founded initiatives benefiting young adults, like the Deborah A. Penta Leadership Scholarship and the PENTA Marketing Mentorship Scholar™ program, a business preparatory course for Westborough High School Seniors. The Westborough-based marketing firm has donated $2.5 million to organizations, charities, and non-profits in New England, with over $1 million benefiting children.

Toys can be dropped off at the PENTA Building, Monday through Friday, between the business hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For questions regarding Toys for Tots donations, please call (508) 616-9900.
