PENTA Communications, Inc. is recognized by Town of Westborough at Veterans’ Day Ceremony

Westborough, MA – On Friday, November 11, PENTA Communications, Inc., a full service integrated marketing, advertising, web development, social media, and public relations firm, was recognized for its generous sponsorship of the new American flag banners that line the town’s streets. At Westborough’s official Veterans’ Day Ceremony, community leaders gathered to recognize and honor local Veterans. Ian Johnson, Chairman of the Westborough Board of Selectman thanked PENTA for its contributions to the Town’s beautification project during the annual services and wreath laying ceremony at the Forbes Municipal Building, located at 45 W Main Street in Westborough.

“As Westborough hosts its annual Veterans Day celebration in honor of the men and women who have so bravely served our country, we are extremely thankful for the contribution of the American flag banners so graciously donated by PENTA Communications. These flags will adorn our new downtown light fixtures and will be a wonderful addition to the honoring of our veterans,” said Ian Johnson, Chairman of the Westborough Board of Selectmen.

Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, PENTA has championed the United States Armed Forces and our nation’s veterans. Each May, PENTA holds a Flag Raising Ceremony, at its corporate headquarters located at 208 Turnpike Road in Westborough, to honor those individuals, and their families, who have served with great courage and dedication. PENTA was recently recognized by the Governor for its annual celebration with a Memorial Day Proclamation in May. At the 2016 PENTA Flag Raising Event, Adam Costello, Director of the Central Massachusetts Veterans’ Service District spoke to the symbolism and deep meaning of the American Flag, which has been a prominent icon of the country’s strength, pride, and unity.

Today, he shared his thoughts about PENTA’s donation of the Flags to the Town of Westborough.

“There are certain values that I hold in high regard, such as service to the community, integrity, compassion, and a basic belief that we can establish positive change if we consider the needs of others as we make decisions in our daily lives. When I first met Deborah Penta, she and I spoke at length about her very personal connections to the military, and I found her to be both sincere and passionate about supporting the local Veteran community and the community at large. Her selfless actions are part of the reason why our community is such a great place to live,” said Costello.

“We are truly humbled to be recognized by the Town of Westborough at this beautiful event,” said Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. “I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the many Westborough men and women, sons and daughters, who served our great nation in every branch of the United States Military. We thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and for the enduring struggles many of you faced during your service, and upon entry back into the United States.”

“We recognize that many of our Veterans return home and need support in many ways,” said Penta. “Some, through the integration back into their home and work lives, and others are on a continuous journey back to physical and emotional wellness. It is our hope that the flags that we have donated that now hang from the street lamps throughout our beautiful community, will serve as a reminder to all of the courage, dedication, sacrifice, and honor that each and every Westborough Veteran, along with their supportive families, have given to our country.”

She then encouraged community members to reach out to local Veterans. “When you see a Veteran, I ask that you thank them for their service to our nation. Thank them for giving up so much for each and every one of us, and for fighting to keep America strong. I urge you to not only speak in words of gratitude, but to also take action by volunteering your time to help Veterans in need. Visit the hospitals, volunteer for a retreat, or in the numerous other ways we can all help,” Penta said.

As Westborough prepares to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of its 1717 incorporation as the 100th town in Massachusetts, the flags will pay homage to its rich history, and serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces to protect the rights and freedoms enjoyed by our nation.

“The service of our Veterans will never be forgotten, and we will forever be grateful,” said Penta.
They have all made me forever proud to be an American.”
