Shrewsbury, MA _ Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc., an integrated marketing firm headquartered in Westborough, MA has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Worcester County Food Bank.

The Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB) is a collaboration of local non-profit human and social service providers, donors from the food industry, corporate, government, civic and private sectors, and individual volunteers whose support and partnership is focused on “providing relief from hunger” to friends and neighbors in Central Massachusetts.

Since its incorporation in 1982, the WCFB has collected and distributed more than 50 million pounds of food and grocery products through a network of local shelters, food pantries, senior centers, residential rehabilitation programs, soup kitchens, after-school programs, and neighborhood centers that help feed hungry people of all ages in 60 communities in Central Massachusetts.

The base of operations for the WCFB is a 37,000 square foot facility located at 474 Boston Turnpike (Route 9), Shrewsbury, MA.

“We are pleased to bring Deborah Penta on to the WCFB Board of Directors,” said WCFB Board Chairman Joseph Radovanic. “Deborah brings a great perspective to the Organization. She is a leader in the community with awareness of the importance of the role of non-profits in the fabric of the community.”

“We look forward to Deborah’s astute insight on strengthening awareness of hunger as experienced by our neighbors in need and to help promote outreach and advocacy for the WCFB’s mission to end hunger,” said WCFB Executive Director Jean McMurray.
