PENTA Communications, Inc. honored as WCAC’s Donor of the Month

WORCESTER _ The Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. (WCAC) is making 2011 the “Year of Thanks,” by honoring those individuals, volunteers, staff and board members who contribute so much to helping WCAC do all it does for the community.

This month, WCAC is honoring those who have helped to make its Fifth Annual Action Hero Awards such a huge success.

PENTA Communications, Inc. is being honored in June 2011 for the firm’s contributions to the event.

“WCAC is delighted to celebrate the incredible generosity and support for programs and services by PENTA Communications, Inc. Deborah Penta, president and CEO, and her team continues to amaze us,” said WCAC Executive Director Jill Dagillis. “Once again, they have contributed their talent to designing WCAC’s annual Action Hero invitations and programs, and served as event sponsors. We are deeply indebted to Deborah and the PENTA Communications, Inc. team.”

Deborah Penta and her team at PENTA Communications, Inc. are deeply committed to supporting the efforts of the WCAC. Penta has been the chairperson of the agency since 2009.

This is the second time in 2011 that PENTA Communications, Inc. has been a WCAC Donor of the Month. In January, Deborah Penta was honored for her contributions to the Third Annual Clothe a Child Drive.

“For the past 45 years, the Worcester Community Action Council is an organization that has helped so many people in need within our community. The extensive programs it offers touch upon a myriad of resources that benefit those individuals and families who seek immediate assistance, and it provides the necessary education and tools to help people create a brighter tomorrow for themselves and their children. PENTA believes in the good work of the Agency and we are proud to be a consistent supporter,” Penta said.

WCAC started in 1965 as the locally designated “community action” agency for the Economic Opportunity Act. Today, it serves over 70,000 annually through its 21 education and social service programs.
