PENTA Communications, Inc. helps Ring in the New Year with First Night Worcester 2010

WORCESTER _ First Night Worcester 2010 is a night when the stars truly shine, and this year’s First Night event is expected to be a star-studded extravaganza.

PENTA Communications, Inc, a Westborough-based integrated marketing firm, has been working to make First Night Worcester 2010 a fun, interactive event, with a state-of-the-art website, print and transit advertising, creative design, and an entertaining and informative program book.

“With the scope of producing an event as large and comprehensive as First Night, each year presents its own creative marketing challenges that are not only met by the Penta professionals, but exceed our expectations,” said First Night Worcester Executive Director Joyce Kressler.

“First Night Worcester is a celebratory jewel for the City of Worcester and the region. It exudes artistic and creative talent in every facet of its production, and we are dedicated to helping it shine again in 2010,” said Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc.

Among the many successes of Worcester’s First Night is its redesigned website that Penta Communications, Inc.  developed and which received a 2008 Prism Award. The award was received for best web design from among all First Night’s in the nation. This is the highest recognition given out by First Night International, which judged over 100 websites.

“We are proud to have an opportunity to help First Night Worcester, which is one of the most successful First Night operations in the United States,” said Penta.

First Night Worcester is in its 28th year, and each year on Dec. 31, the city is transformed into a major festival that rivals bigger New Year’s Eve First Nights across the country. Worcester’s First Night is designed with families in mind and offers a little bit of something for everyone. This is an event that produces the largest New Year’s Eve arts celebration in Central Massachusetts and each year attracts tens of thousands of celebrants annually to Worcester. First Night Worcester is a non-profit 501 C (3) organization that is dedicated to expanding arts in the city; and, its board members make up an eclectic mix of the community.

This year’s theme, “Where the Stars Shine,” will offer artistically diverse performances and activities in numerous indoor locations.  First Night revelers will be able to celebrate the New Year by writing their New Year’s resolutions on “wish sticks” and then throwing them into the “Resolution Fire” that will be on hand that evening. There will be fire jugglers, and kids will be able to jump on a bubble wrap carpet that will be placed on the stairs of the Worcester Auditorium.

“First Night Worcester is a remarkable arts organization that brings together such an eclectic mix of entertainment, art and culture in one evening,” Penta said. “It also brings thousands of people from all over New England and we are very honored to support Joyce Kressler and the team at First Night in building its marketing and advertising program, to expand its reach and bring more people to the City of Worcester.”
