Penta named vice chairperson of Corridor Nine Chamber
WESTBOROUGH _ Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications Inc. was recently appointed to the position of vice chairperson of the Executive Committee for the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce. The Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 2003, and today has over 800 members from 60 cities and towns in the region, making it one of the area’s largest and active chambers.
The Chairman of the Nominating Committee, Westborough Bank President and CEO Joseph MacDonough, announced Penta’s appointment at the organization’s annual dinner and business awards held on May 17, 2007.
Penta has been a member of the Corridor Nine board of directors for the past three years and has been an active member of its Marketing Committee. In 2002, Penta was awarded the coveted Eli Whitney Award. The Eli Whitney Award was established in 1989 to honor Chamber businesses and/or individuals who embody the entrepreneurial and community spirit. It is named for Eli Whitney, the well-known Westborough entrepreneur who invented the cotton gin and was one of the pioneers in the mass production of cotton.
“The committee felt that Deborah had demonstrated commitment and leadership in her work for the Chamber at both the board and committee levels,” MacDonough said.
Corridor Nine President Barbara Clifford agreed.
“Deborah Penta is a welcome and exciting addition to the Executive Committee of Corridor Nine. For the last three years Deborah and her staff have worked hard developing the Corridor Nine image through outstanding marketing pieces that advance the Corridor Nine mission of helping its members develop and grow their businesses,” Clifford said. “With Deborah’s expertise in corporate marketing, we expect a positive impact on our membership growth in both the corporate sector of the membership, as well as the core sector-small business. Deborah knows how to get things done.”
